Achievements

Election of Professor of the Department of Architecture Arynov Kaldybai Kanaevich as an Academician of the National Academy of Design, Moscow, Russia. From March 28 to March 31, 2018, Professor of the Department of Architecture at L.N.Gumilyov ENU Arynov Kaldybai Kanaevich took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Art and Exposition. Historical experience and the latest trends", which was held in Moscow at the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery. The event was preceded by an expanded meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Design, at which, in addition to a report on the activities of the Academy and development prospects, new academicians were elected to the Academy, where certificates and certificates of academician Arynov Kaldybai Kanaevich were awarded.

CREATIVITY

In August 2018, the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Eurasian Group, the United Nations Development Program, the National Institute of Energy Conservation and the Kazakhstan Association of Energy Auditors, held a competition to develop an energy saving symbol of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On November 9, the results of the competition were summed up within the framework of the First International Energy Saving Forum. In the "Professional" nomination, the Grand Prix with a prize fund of 1 million tenge was won by a 5th-year student of the Architecture Department of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the Eurasian National University. On July 4, 2018, the opening of the creative exhibition of the Honored Architect, author of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Malibekov Zh.M., as well as students of the Department of Architecture, took place in the atrium "Kultegin" of the Eurasian National University. The exhibition of creative works is dedicated to the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the capital Astana.

On February 27, 2018, the Marriott Hotel hosted the final of the International Competition of the French Charles de Gaulle – Miras School (Astana) to create a new logo of the training center. A talented fourth–year student of the Department of Architecture, Amirov Nurdaulet, became a laureate of the International Competition of the French Charles de Gaulle - Miras International School.

Creative photo exhibition "WATERINSPIRATION" by the visiting professor of the Krakow Polytechnic University. Tadeusz Kosciuszka – Sabina Kutz. On November 24, Professor Sabina Kutz opened a photo exhibition of her creative works "WATERINSPIRATION" at the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The opening was attended by the dean of ASF Baymukhanov Seriktai Kakenovich, Head of the Department of Architecture Sadykova Sarah Shangereevna, faculty and students of the Department of Architecture. Sabina Kutz's photo exhibition reflects the professor's scientific and creative interests in the field of modern landscape architecture.

Astana Architecture and Business & Design Dialogue International Forum. On September 29-30, 2016, Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, hosted the Business & Design Dialogue Kazakhstan Forum on design, technology, management of office and public spaces for the second time. Students and faculty of the Department of Architecture took part in this event.

CONTESTS AND OLYMPIADS

On April 28-29, 2022, on the basis of the Department of Architecture of the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, the Republican subject Olympiad in the discipline "Architectural Design" was held among 3rd and 4th year students, according to the educational program "Architecture of residential and public buildings".

Olga Nikolaevna Semenyuk, Head of the Department of Architecture, opened the Olympiad with a welcoming speech. She wished the participants great success and creative mood in completing the tasks of the Olympiad.

50 students from 6 specialized universities of Kazakhstan took part in the Olympiad: L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University, IOC Kazakh Head Architectural and Construction Academy, Karaganda Technical University, M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University, West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology. The Olympiad was held in a remote format on the Microsoft Teams platform.

The moderator of the subject Olympiad, Isina Asem Zaisanovna, gave students tasks through a random number generator. For 5 hours, students of the 3rd and 4th courses performed a creative clausura, where they tried to demonstrate their skills in solving the set goals and objectives of the architectural design of the subject Olympiad.

According to the results of the work of the jury members of the Republican subject Olympiad, students received Diplomas of 1,2,3 degrees.

On November 29, 2021, the Department of Architecture of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University took part in the Annual Republican Review Competition of final qualifying works in the field of Architecture. The event was traditionally held on the online platform of the KAZGAS International Educational Corporation (Almaty, Kazakhstan), where 8 universities of Kazakhstan took part, presenting 51 diploma and master's theses.

The best graduation theses of the Architecture Department were sent to the review competition, which took part in the nominations "Architecture of public buildings" and "Architecture of residential buildings". The main criteria for evaluating qualifying works were: the relevance of the topic; the originality of the architectural and artistic design; an innovative approach to design solutions; full disclosure of the ideological concept and elaboration of the project at a high level. The professional jury of the competition highly appreciated 4 works by students of the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the ENU. L.N.Gumilyova, who became the winners of the Republican review competition and were awarded diplomas – 3 diploma projects in the nomination "Architecture of public buildings", 1 work in the nomination "Architecture of residential buildings".

The diploma of the first degree was awarded to the work (project) of the student Ismagulov Ulan on the topic "Project of the interactive center for astrophysics in Nur-Sultan", scientific supervisor Revtova Victoria Viktorovna.

The diploma of the II degree was awarded to the work (project) of student Saparbek Baglan on the topic "Project of an energy-efficient multifunctional library in Shymkent", scientific supervisor Toishieva Almagul Almaganbetovana.

On October 14-17, 2017, a student of the Department of Architecture Igibaeva M. took part in the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi. The participants of the regional program communicated with active youth from the regions of Russia, tasted traditional dishes of the peoples of Russia, saw historical sites and sights of Russian cities, participated in sports workshops on national sports, received souvenirs and gifts with a national flavor.

THE SCIENCE

The department has been working on the GRANT of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 065 dated 12.02.2015 on the topic from 2015 to 2018: "Transformation of the architecture of the cities of Kazakhstan (identification and research of regional features of heritage architecture and modern architecture of Kazakhstan)" under the leadership of the Candidate of Sciences. architecture, Professor R.U. Chekaeva. The results of the work have been introduced into production, there are: the act of implementation - No. 266 dated 09.03.2017 in Petropavlovsk and the act of implementation No. 266 dated 09.03. Kostanay.

The winner of the "Science Slam – Kazakhstan" in 2016 was Assel Pazylbekova, a 2nd-year graduate student of the specialty "Architecture" of the Eurasian National University. The young researcher presented a project called "Transformable working model for conceptual design processes".

The concept of an eco-neighborhood created by students of the ENU Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering was recognized as one of the best in the international competition of research projects of young scientists and students "Eurasia Green", which took place in Yekaterinburg on April 20, 2016 as part of the VII The Eurasian Economic Youth Forum (VII EEFM).

The publication of Asel Pazylbekova, a graduate student of the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, "Transformable sketch Modeling for conceptual Design processes" has successfully passed the review process and was published in the international scientific publication "Global Journal of Engineering Education", included in the Scopus bibliometric database.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

On March 28, 2018, L.N. Gumilev ENU hosted a lecture by the famous Spanish architect Vicente Guayarta - "Prototyping the cities of the future. Vicente Guayart, Chief Architect of Barcelona (2011 - 2015), co-founder of the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), and now head of the Shukhov Lab and the master's program “Prototyping Cities of the Future” Higher School of Urban Studies of the Higher School of Economics (Moscow).

From October 5 to 9, 2017, an international seminar and master class with the participation of an Italian architect, urban designer was held at the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering of L.N.Gumilev ENU Massimiliano Bacue, Studio 3M+R. Massimiliano Bacue is an architect, urban redevelopment designer, designer of historical restoration and building design of elite residences, winner of national and international design competitions and author of publications on architecture.

From October 2 to October 9, 2017, a group of senior students of the Department of Architecture under the leadership of the head of the department Sadykova S.Sh. and senior lecturer Toishieva A.A. participated in the international student exchange program. The exchange was carried out within the framework of an international Memorandum of cooperation between L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University and the National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.

On July 28, 2017, representatives of the Italian Association of Design and Architecture visited the Eurasian National University − Vice-President of the Chamber of Architects of Rome Alessandro Ridolfi and founder of NOS Design and the Italian Association of Architecture and Design Benedetta Gargiulo Morelli.

From July 10 to July 15, 2017, students of the 1.2 course of the Department of Architecture at L. N. Gumilyov ENU, under the guidance of teacher A. M. Saurbayeva and Professor Sabin Kutz, held an open-air internship in Krakow at the Tadeusz Kosciuszko Krakow Polytechnic University.

On June 20, 2017, faculty of the Department of Architecture and students took part in the Stimulation 'How to turn an Entire Region CO2 Neutral', organized by the Swiss Pavilion and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art, Astana.

Architectural historian Jean-Louis Cohen in Kazakhstan – the third series of lectures from the series "The City of the Future". As part of a series of lectures on the city of the future (organized with the support of the French Institute), as well as his teaching activities at the College de France, Professor Jean-Louis Cohen, an architectural historian and lecturer at the New York Institute of Fine Arts, visited several cities of Kazakhstan from June 25 to 29, 2016 (Astana, Karaganda, Almaty, Shymkent). On June 24 at 15:00 at the ENU named afterGumilyov, Astana, held a lecture on the topic "A brief excursion into the history of the city".
