Master Class at the “Premiera Home” Finishing Materials Showroom

On February 17, within the framework of the discipline “Modern Materials in Design”, implemented under the educational program 6B02121 “Architectural Design,” 3rd-year students of the Department of Design and Engineering Graphics took part in an off-site practical class held at the finishing materials showroom “Premiera Home.”
The off-site session was organized by Senior Lecturer T.A. Abdrashitova with the aim of deepening students’ knowledge on the topic of finishing materials and modern decorative panels. The venue for the class was the “Premiera Home” finishing materials showroom (Astana, 12 Z. Nazhimedenov Street), one of the leading suppliers of modern interior finishing solutions in the capital.
As part of the lecture titled “Features and Characteristics of Modern Materials for Final Wall Finishing,” the showroom specialists introduced students to a wide range of products, including decorative panels, modern wall coverings, innovative finishing solutions, and related materials. Special attention was paid to the technical characteristics of the materials, their performance properties, environmental friendliness, installation methods, and possibilities for use in residential and public interiors.
Students not only had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with material samples but also asked professional questions to the company’s representatives, discussed current trends in interior finishing, and received practical recommendations on the selection and specification of materials for projects.
Studying modern materials at the facilities of specialized organizations is an important part of training future interior designers. This format of learning allows students to combine theoretical knowledge with practice, see real product samples, understand the specifics of working with suppliers, and develop professional skills necessary for their future design activities.
The Department of Design and Engineering Graphics expresses its gratitude to the management of the “Premiera Home” showroom for their cooperation and contribution to the professional development of students, and to manager Madina for the engaging lecture.
